The Social Security Administration has announced an increase in the benefits that will be paid in 2018.
SSDI beneficiaries will see a 2% increase in their monthly cash benefits.
SSI beneficiaries will see a 2% increase in their monthly SSI cash benefits from the full benefit rate of $735 to $750 (for individuals), and from $1,103/month to $1,125/month for couples beginning in January of 2018.
For SSI purposes, the resources limit remains the same; $2,000/month for an individual and $3,000/month for a couple. Information about resources limit can be found here.
The Trial Work Period threshold will be increased from $840/month to $850/month. The Substantial Gainful Activity (SGA) level will be increased to $1,180/month for non-Blind beneficiaries, and $1,970/month for Blind beneficiaries.
